Cold and Hot

We know Hot and we know Cold. We lived in Michigan for 59 1/2 years. So we know cold. One time I was in the upper peninsula of Michigan and it was -37 degrees, I went out and started my diesel truck, I let it run for 30 minutes and when I got in it to leave, the truck was not even close to be warmed up. I had to go down the road for a long ways before it started to get warm. In the Cold when you touch something, it's Cold!

Now we know Hot. We've had some of the hottest weather that we've ever seen. When it's 113 degrees in the Hot Arizona sun, it's smoking Hot. When you touch something it's Hot. Even the city water coming out of the faucet is Hot and the floor in the RV is even Hot. So now we know Hot!

I think I like the Hot better than the Cold. No SNOW with the Hot!

This was one of the cooler days.

A beautiful sunset from the BGE RV Resort.

Peggy and I out for dinner at Wheezy's Grill and Sportsbar. We haven't been going out too much. We stay on the resort and cook a lot on the BGE.

Like these giants meatballs, We had these in Williams, AZ. They called it "The Baller".

They are so good.

Just let them smoke a bit.

A nice night out. We have all our solar lights out.

I went to the Knee doctor and got a couple of shots to make them work better. This was one of the patients ahead of me. He didn't talk much. I love Medicare! Back when I had that really bad Obamacare, I couldn't get this done.

Katie picture of the week. She loves the new seat cushions.

Phase III is Done!

Phase III is all done. It was a good show to watch the RV port guys put it up. It was about 110 degrees and sunny that day.

Three guys put it up in one day. That was fast. They arrived here at 11 am and were done at 4pm and that was with a 2 hour lunch break.

                                      Hard working guys.

All that work with just ladders and it's up over 15 feet.

Long sleeve shirts and pants with face covering to stay out of the sun.

                             They were the Skeleton crew.

All done with the RV in it.

Then the bricks are next! Frank, the brick guy, even showed up a day early. Frank is the MAN!.

Frank and his team got most of it done the first day. But his truck, a Ford, broke down on Saturday so he couldn't come back until Tuesday to finish the job.

Lots of hard work in 110 degrees.

A nice walkway to the shed.

                            Katie playing with the Bobcat.

And a bonus, I got the Satellite guy to come out and set us up with that. The whole phase III went pretty smooth. It's all done for now!

We gained a lot of nice shade and the RV stays a lot cooler inside.

We went out with Heather and Mike for a nice lunch and Peggy got this spicy beer drink.

Here is a little Video.

Back to our winter home

We got back to our winter home. It's pretty hot, 103 today. We have been getting up at 6 am before it gets too hot to work on getting set up.

It's Really nice to have fast internet again. We have Spectrum Wifi here and it is blazing fast. When we are on the road we use a Verizon hotspot and it really sucks and cost way too much. Someday someone will come up with something better I hope.

The RV is on the wrong side of the lot, so it's not in the way to install the RV port next week. I had to put the battery charger on the car to get it to start. I got the washer and dryer all hooked up and running. We called Frank, the brick guy, to line him up to make the patio a lot bigger and put in a walkway to the shed.

Before we left Williams, AZ we went to the Raptor Ranch. This Harrier Hawk, named Hawkeye,  would fly from a perch to his trainer. He had him flying right over our heads. It came so close you could almost touch it. Peggy got this great picture.

                                         Here he comes!

They had a lot of hawks on display.

I think this is a Harrier Hawk.

                                       And this huge Horned Owl.

The Raptor Ranch is an old Flintstone's tourist trap. They are rebuilding it for the bird show. It has an RV park they rebuilt and added 50 amp hookups. It's only about 25 mile south of the Grand Canyon. It only cost $5 to see the show and it was worth it. It was a good show. I've never had a hawk fly so close to my head before.

Peggy being a good sport for some funny pictures.

On our way back we stopped at the Grand Canyon Brewery and met some real nice people from California, Chris and Terry.

On our way home

We are on the move. Our first stop is in Williams, AZ at The Grand Canyon Railroad RV Park. The trains run at night and they are loud.

Only a couple of yards from the park.

We have a nice big lot on the end of the road with a nice view into a field and some mountains.

We walked to dinner at the Grand Canyon Brewery and Distillery. The food was good and they had outdoor seating.

Before we left Lakeside we had to stop at the Trump store one more time. They say this is one of only two Trump stores in the nation. I find that hard to believe.
Katie got her mask on to go outside. She doesn't like it much.
I have mine on just to be safe. In the bars here they check your temperature and you have to have a mask on until you are seated and have a drink in front of you and NO dancing.
We had a Labor Day party at the park in Lakeside.

We saw Nanook the Beer delivery guy at the world famous Sultana Bar here in Williams.

We are heading back to Fortuna Foothills. We're not in a big hurry because it's still hot back there. But we'll be back by the 30th. They are going to start to install our RV port. It was supposed to be done already. But it will be nice to be there to make sure they do it right.

Heidi and Matt making Bacon Apple Crisp with Bourbon Caramel sauce on the BGE. Looks good. I'll have to try that sometime.

Best Little RV Park

Only got one more week here at the Best Little RV Park in Lakeside, Ponderosa RV Park. Kelley and Jeff that run the park are the best! We have been here for 3 mouths and the weather has been great. Not too hot and nice and sunny with a little rain mixed in. We have had a great site in the park, thanks to Kelley. We have a nice little apple tree to give us some nice shade to sit out in.

The town of Lakeside/Pinetop is a nice place to spend the summer. It's just a small town in the White Mountains of eastern Arizona.

Soon we'll be heading home to Fortuna Foothills. Hope it cools down a bit first.

We have made some good friends here in the park. Someday we may hook up with them in another place, you never know.

Alan and Trish from Lake Havasu, only a 5 hour drive from here.

Having fun whipping up some good food on the BGE.

Some meatloaf. I love meatloaf on the BGE.
I made my first Peach Cobbler on the BGE. It was really good. We will be doing that again! This was a small one, next time I am going to make a BIG one.

Phase III report. The footing are all in. They are finally in the right spot! But the bad news the RV port will not be built until after we get back sometime. It was Supposed be done before we got back. Just like most salesmen they lie to you to get the sale.
