Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays to everyone. Stay home and be safe. We haven't been doing much lately. This covid thing is screwing up everybody's plans. Hope we can get the vaccine soon.

But we're still trying to have some fun somehow.

The dog pack is here to visit for the week. Katie is having a ton of fun with Booger, Baby and Bonnie. It's just a black and white blur running around most of the time.

We had a little light show in the smoke from the BGE. I was cooking a Prime Rib roast on it.

And sometimes we have a natural light show at sunset. We don't have clouds that often.

Heidi and Matt got me a really cool set of Bokashi Big Green Egg steak knives for Christmas. They are beautiful. That's Craig photobombing in the background.

Bill and Marsha brought us some Yellow Lake Perch from Michigan. You can't get Yellow Lake Perch out here in the west. We didn't share with anyone. They are too good.

Peggy sitting out around the campfire. The nights are so nice here.

Oh look, Matt got a nice set of Big Green Egg knives also. Matt is so lucky too.

New Teeth

Just got back from Mexico with 3 new teeth. They feel great. The total cost was $1620.00! That's a wonderful thing. On my last trip I was over and back in 45 minutes. My next plan is to replace a tooth on the other side. I think I'm going to get an implant and crown at a cost of $2200.00. I have other options though.

A little project that we did was to mount a bigger TV outside in the RV port.

Got it done although I'm not that happy with the cabinet I used. It's a little too big. So I'm having a custom made one. But it will take some time for my guy to build it. His name is Cowboy so that says a lot. He only works part time. So I'm at his mercy.

Katie and Toby had a play date the other day.
She slept the whole next day.

I put our Thanksgiving turkey on at 11:00 and it was done at 3:00.

How does it look?

Peggy made her world famous gravey and it was killer good.
We even made a pumpkin pie on the BGE

I love Thanksgiving, it's my favorite holiday.

Katie and I after the big Turkey feast.

Peggy helped me put up some dove deterrence in the RV port. The doves are a pain in the butt.

This what they look like. It's supposed to look like a predators eye and keep them away.  We put 15 of them up. So far it's working.
We used a magnet to hold them up in the rafters. We used Peggy's old Golf Ball and String trick. It was kind of fun getting them up there.

All Settled In

We're all settled in our new RV port and we love it! The weather has been great.

The day we got the RV washed it rained for about 5 minutes. That's the way it goes for us. Good thing it's under the RV port.

We get some of the best sunsets here in the Fortuna Foothills. We could take a picture every night.

This was the 5 minute rainstorm the day we had the RV washed. It had a double rainbow.

The before picture.

Peggy repainted our outside table and got new cushions. It looked pretty ugly.

Now it looks great! She did a great job.

Getting old is a bitch. I had a bridge and a cap just fall out of my mouth. We were out to lunch at our favorite place, The A&R Grill,  and found out that the owner's wife, Alma, is a dentist in Mexico. So I went to see her and get fixed up. The first thing was a root canal and gum surgery in preparation for a new bridge on one side. That wasn't fun, but I need to get it done. Three more trips to get it done. The cost is about 1/3 of the price here in the U.S. A root canal was only $400 and the gum surgery was only $150. The bridge is going to be $900. I had a quote from a dentist state side that it was going to be $7000 for the bridge plus $1900 for the root canal. That's why people go to Mexico.

Bill, Sharon and Buffy came over for a play date. Katie and Buffy are best friends. They play really hard.

I made a Pineapple upside down cake on the BGE. It turned out pretty good. I'll do it again.

Got this cool picture of Heidi. Had to add it to the blog.

Got a new update to my phone camera. Just playing with it a little.

Katie with the new camera.

Terry found this BGE Chiminea. These are pretty rare. They made these a long time ago. It's pretty cool.

Cold and Hot

We know Hot and we know Cold. We lived in Michigan for 59 1/2 years. So we know cold. One time I was in the upper peninsula of Michigan and it was -37 degrees, I went out and started my diesel truck, I let it run for 30 minutes and when I got in it to leave, the truck was not even close to be warmed up. I had to go down the road for a long ways before it started to get warm. In the Cold when you touch something, it's Cold!

Now we know Hot. We've had some of the hottest weather that we've ever seen. When it's 113 degrees in the Hot Arizona sun, it's smoking Hot. When you touch something it's Hot. Even the city water coming out of the faucet is Hot and the floor in the RV is even Hot. So now we know Hot!

I think I like the Hot better than the Cold. No SNOW with the Hot!

This was one of the cooler days.

A beautiful sunset from the BGE RV Resort.

Peggy and I out for dinner at Wheezy's Grill and Sportsbar. We haven't been going out too much. We stay on the resort and cook a lot on the BGE.

Like these giants meatballs, We had these in Williams, AZ. They called it "The Baller".

They are so good.

Just let them smoke a bit.

A nice night out. We have all our solar lights out.

I went to the Knee doctor and got a couple of shots to make them work better. This was one of the patients ahead of me. He didn't talk much. I love Medicare! Back when I had that really bad Obamacare, I couldn't get this done.

Katie picture of the week. She loves the new seat cushions.

Phase III is Done!

Phase III is all done. It was a good show to watch the RV port guys put it up. It was about 110 degrees and sunny that day.

Three guys put it up in one day. That was fast. They arrived here at 11 am and were done at 4pm and that was with a 2 hour lunch break.

                                      Hard working guys.

All that work with just ladders and it's up over 15 feet.

Long sleeve shirts and pants with face covering to stay out of the sun.

                             They were the Skeleton crew.

All done with the RV in it.

Then the bricks are next! Frank, the brick guy, even showed up a day early. Frank is the MAN!.

Frank and his team got most of it done the first day. But his truck, a Ford, broke down on Saturday so he couldn't come back until Tuesday to finish the job.

Lots of hard work in 110 degrees.

A nice walkway to the shed.

                            Katie playing with the Bobcat.

And a bonus, I got the Satellite guy to come out and set us up with that. The whole phase III went pretty smooth. It's all done for now!

We gained a lot of nice shade and the RV stays a lot cooler inside.

We went out with Heather and Mike for a nice lunch and Peggy got this spicy beer drink.

Here is a little Video.
