Alpine and Tombstone

 We left Show Low and went to Alpine, AZ. We stayed at Coronado RV Park. It was a really nice park in a Ponderosa Pine forest at 8050 feet in the White Mountains.

We had a nice big back in site. It had a huge dog park that Katie loved and a nice walking trail. Check out those huge trees behind us. The weather was a little cooler, in the 70's and yes it rained almost every day. We've never seen so much rain.

Alpine is a really small town, only 146 people live there but it has 3 bars. We only stayed a week.

We hooked up with Terry and Charity! They are dry camping in the White Mountains just 6 or 7 miles from Alpine. We cooked some brats on the grill. It was a really nice day. We saw a couple of deer playing around not too far away. Terry has 3 Basset Hounds and 1 German Shepherd.  It took Katie a little while to get ok with them. She got a lot of lap time in.

It wasn't too bad of a drive, but it was as far as the truck has ever been off road. 

But now we've moved to one of our favorite places! Tombstone RV Park. We really like Tombstone. It's still a small tourist trap. But we like it. We have a great site with lots of room. The weather is a little warmer here. We are still pretty high at 4300 feet. 

Of course the first place we had to go to was Big Nose Kate's Saloon to get THE best Reuben sandwiches on earth.

Next stop was The Four Deuces Saloon. This is a small place but nice people hang out here.

Tombstone has a great brewery. Lisa was our tap master.

Katie has a girlfriend here in the park. Lucy and Katie play around in the dog park.

We went to Bisbee, AZ. Stopped at the Bisbee brewery. It's an old mining town. It was a huge open pit mine and a hard rock underground mine. The Queen Mine. You can take a train tour of the Queen Mine. We've done it before and it was pretty cool.

The whole town is built in the mountains around the mine. All the streets are really hilly.

You take these steps to get to the next street above. Local artists just hang their art on the walls of the buildings.

Peggy hanging with the locals in Bisbee. Rex was a pretty cool guy. He told us a lot of local history. He was born and raised right in Bisbee.

We left one of our stickers on the tapper in the famous bar, St. Elmo's. Local historian, Rex told us it's the longest continuous running bar in the nation. It even stayed open during prohibition.
