Glenrock

We have moved to Glenrock WY. It was a 300 mile trip. That is at our limit. We do not like to travel more than that in one day. The truck with it's new brakes and tires worked great.
The campground is in a field, But Wyoming is one giant field anyway. The park is on the Platte river. We have not walked down to see it yet.
We sat outside last night and watched the moon.

We took some pictures thru the telescope.
This one was thru the telescope.
Here is Cliff in his favorite chair.
Glenrock is a small town on the Platte river. It is just east of Casper. We did go to dinner in town. It has about 4 different places to eat. We will try to hit them all.
Last night I smoked a pork butt on the BGE. A 12 hour cook. So pulled pork sandwiches today!

Got the Truck Back

We are so happy we finally got the Big Truck back. We had some maintenance done and got new tires. It took longer then we thought it would. But we should know better. No one gets work like that done on time.
I am so happy!
Congratulations to my daughter Heidi! She got her first US Patent! For Air Suspension System With Load Detection. Patent number US 9,102,208 B2 if anyone would like to look it up to read. It is some good reading. She works hard and it paid off.
Today we are going to take a bike ride to Red Lodge MT. It looks like a cool town.
Tomorrow we are going to start heading south for the winter. Going to Casper WY to a campground right on the Platte River.

Waiting

I took the Big Truck in on Friday to get some things fixed. The shop is open and working all weekend. They had to order some parts and they will not be here until Tuesday. So we only have the Big Dog to get around on. That is not a big problem, I love riding the Big Dog.
The weather has been good but there is a little smoke in the air from the big fires just north of us. But it is getting a little cool at night so we are going to start heading south soon. We are going to winter in Quartzsite AZ. The weather there has been in the low 100's there. So it will take us 2 mouths to get there and maybe it will cool down some.
Looking back at some of our pictures. I like this one. Cool helmet.
A little fun in Deadwood.
I went to Best Buy and got a HDMI cable to watch satellite TV on the outside TV. It worked good. We watched the Indy car race outside Sunday.

Big Truck

Ok Big Truck = Big Maintenance. I took the truck in for an oil change and checkup. It took all day. I was at the shop from 7 am to 4 pm, ALL DAY. So next time I will pack a lunch. They found a few things to fix or replace. Of course they could not do it that day. So I have to take it back on Friday. That is only half the story. The truck still needs 4 back tires. I went to the biggest tire store in town and they called all over the state looking for tires and could not find any.  He even called Michelin and they did not have any and did
not know when they would make any. I want the same tires that are on the truck. Michelin 255/80R22.5 XRV's. So when I got back to our rolling home I looked online and found some in Hickory, NC on SimpleTire.com. So they will be here on Monday. We have had to extend our stay here for another week to get all this work done. It is something you just have to do.
Billings is a nice town to stay and get all this work done. They have all the big box stores that we do not see in some of the small towns we stayed at like Deadwood. Only 1275 people live in Deadwood.

Goodbye To Deadwood

We left Deadwood and moved to Billings Montana. Peggy did some driving on the way about 150 miles and I did NOT go crazy. She did a real good job.
She even had to drive thru some small towns.
We had a good time in Deadwood and it was time to move on. The bike rally was a ton of fun and it was good to see some of our friends from Saginaw.
Here is our site in Billings Village RV Park. This is a real nice park and I think we have one of the best sites in the park.
We have a lot of things to do here. I need to get the oil changed in the Big Truck. Our mail is coming here and it has the truck license tabs in it.
Today we are going to go to Cabela's, one of my favorite stores. I can always find something I need there.

The Rally Is Over

The 75th Sturgis Bike Rally is over. The Park is empty, we are the only bikers left. We took a ride to Spearfish to pick up a few things. Then we took some back way into Sturgis and stopped in Whitehead at the Bullwacker's Saloon. As you can see we are the only bikers in town.
When we got to Sturgis the town is shutting down. The biggest bar One Eyed Jacks is closed already. Most of the shops are closed too.  We did do a little shopping. We got 4 tee shirts for $40 bucks.
We had lunch at The Knuckle Saloon. I had the hot roast beef sandwich and Peggy had the Chicken sandwich. They were both good.
This is how it looks at rally time.
The bad news was 12 people where killed during the rally. That is a new record. But there were more people at this rally too.
We did have a good time riding with Jim, Lee Ann, Darren and Jo.
We are still here until Saturday, Then onto Billings Montana.

BIKE WEEK

We have had a ton of fun this week. We did a bunch of fun riding with Jim, Lee Ann, Darren and Jo. Everyone rode safe.
Here we all are at some bar. I forgot what bar this was.
But I remember what bar this was, It was "The Buffalo Jump Bar". They have the world famous pool bar.
Here we have George at Needles Hwy.
And Paul also at Needles Hwy.
Peggy and I at Needles Hwy.
One of the views from Peggy's seat on Spearfish Canyon road.

We rode to the "Stone House Saloon" it is one of those bars that is only open for the rally. Next week they will plant hay all around it.
All of Cliff's Friends left on Friday. He was not happy about that. They had 4 Frenchy's, They would take 2 riding and when we got back we would go let the other 2 out to play with Cliff. It was hard to get all of them in one picture.
They are so cute.
Today it started to rain just as we got back from Deadwood. So we loaded up Jim's and Darren's bikes and they hit the rode for the long ride home. Hope the weather is good for their trip.
The park is starting to empty out. We are still here for another week. We are going to go to Sturgis on Monday to get the Tee shirts on sale.

Still Riding Our Brains Out!

We are still riding our brains out, but with a whole brunch of old good friends from home, Jim and Lee Ann got here on Saturday. We made the Devil's Tower run with Jim and Lee Ann. We stopped at The Buffalo Jump Bar. It has the world famous Pool Bar, then onto lunch at Cindy B's for lunch. We had to stop in Hulett at the Ponderosa Café for a beer.
Then Perry, Cathy, Paul, Becky, George, Sheryl and Evan got here on Sunday. We did a big ride on Monday. We rode down to Needles Hwy, then the Wildlife loop in Custer State Park. We saw some Prong Horn Deer and Buffalo. Then one of my favorite roads The Iron Mountain Road. It has the Pig Tail Bridges on it that are so cool. They twist around and you ride under the top road. It is hard to explain. But they are really cool.
I am having trouble down loading pictures with this bad internet connection.
On Monday Darren and Joe got here. They rode from Saginaw, but they took the ferry from Muskegon to Milwaukee across Lake Michigan then to here. We did a little ride Tuesday. Out to Rochford, SD. The bad thing was the last mile was dirt road, I hate that. We stopped at the Boar Nest to have one. Then came back to camp and cooked burgers on the BGE. We got dinner and it started to get windy and raining.
