Construction Miracle

Our construction project is going really well. We got the floor in our bedroom done in 5 days! It's a miracle!
Frank and his crew did a great job. It only took them an hour and a half.
It looks great. Now we just have to wait for our new bed frame. We'll see if the project can continue as planned. Keep your fingers crossed.
Peggy has already started dog sitting. We had Kobe for the afternoon. He's a pretty funny little dog.
The weather has been great. We sat outside and watched Monday Night Football. The game starts at 5:30 out here in the west.
Cool looking moon the other night.
I've been cooking on the BGE. Pizza was killer. Made some really good Jerky on Friday.
A lot of people are starting to roll into the park. They predict 50 are going to check in on November 1. The park is going to be full this year. It's a nice park with big sites, priced right and more people know about it now.

Under Construction

We've arrived at our winter home in Yuma. We got here a little early this year, so we've started our bedroom remodel project. We took the carpet out along with a million staples and we're going to remodel the steps going into the bedroom. We've removed the bed frame and are going to get a new one made.
We've already purchased the new vinyl plank flooring. Frank was going to come and install it today, but he called in sick.
He said he will come tomorrow for sure.
We'll see. You know how installers are.
The carpet on the steps has about two million staples in it. So it's slow going on the steps.
This is our bedroom for now. Good thing we have a garage.
Here's looking down from the bedroom.
You know, this is our home, and sometimes it need updating.
This is our biggest remodel so far.

I'm also getting High speed internet installed today. Just like all the other cable companies, I'm not sure when they're going to show up. So just be patient and wait!

Oh, on our way down to Yuma, we stopped in La Paz County RV park in Parker. We met some fun people there. Peggy, Judy and I at dinner on the river at Pirates Den Resort.
Steve got a new pontoon boat and invited us for the first launch. It was a nice day for a boat ride. All went well for the maiden voyage. We stopped and had lunch at a bar on the water.
Here's Steve driving the boat with wife, Alice, and new friends, Judy and John enjoying the ride. The Colorado River is great for boating, lots of places to stop for food and refreshments.
It rained the night before we left La Paz so we ran into some flash flooding on the way to Yuma. This is common here in the desert. There were about 10 different places with water over the road. Peggy did an excellent job of driving while I was taking the pictures. We also happened upon some burros, sorry no pictures.

Bullhead City

We've moved to Vista Del Sol RV Resort in Bullhead City, AZ.
It has nice big sites with double wide pads. They are building nice homes with RV ports in the park.
Your first stay here is $99 + electric for a week.
They do have some strange rules. Our site is 100 feet long, but they don't want us to park the truck on our site. I think it's just a control thing in the office.
We had a nice sunset the other night.
The park is up on the top of a hill. This is our view, looking down on Bullhead City.
A little wild life here in the park. A Roadrunner on a rock.
We visited Oatman, AZ. It's a small, old mining town that has wild burros that are descendants from the ones prospectors had. They roam the town looking for handouts. It's kind of like a rough Frankenmuth of the west.
We met Mike in the Oatman Hotel. He was a crusty character. We had to get his picture, He works for Peter Pan Seafood in Seattle, WA on the fishing boats, and he lives in Oatman when he's in town.
The hotel has a lot of dollar bills on the walls.

Things that make RV life a little easier.
It's been a year since we installed new door locks on both doors.
They work great with the remote fob. I haven't even had to replace the batteries in them yet. The only thing that I don't like is that there is a little switch on the handle that turns off the remote fob. So I put a little piece of duct tape on it to take care of that problem.
Another thing we added were these Snap Pads on our jacks. They work great and you don't have to pick them up when you're ready to move to the next site.
The water softener with quick disconnects on the hoses. This is one of the best things we've added. It makes your hair feel so good and it keeps the faucets clear of calcium.
