Battle Field

We've left Nashville. We had a great time there. We should've stayed a little longer. We went to Honky Tonk Tuesday at the American Legion. We met our friend, Shantel there. Shantel is a famous writer, singer and recording artist who lives in Nashville. The stage show was on live radio. It was a very good show. Thanks Shan!

The place was packed with young people. I think we were the oldest in the building.

We had a ton of fun.

One of the local bands. They were good.

We hooked up with friends, Adam and Janelle. We met them back in Tom Sawyer RV park. We had a couple of happy hours together. We found Two Rivers Campground to be our favorite on Music Valley Drive.

We got this good deal at Ole Smoky brewery where you buy 5, get 1 free and a free cooler! The Pickles are really good in a Bloody Mary.

We are at Holiday Travel Park in Rossville, GA. It's just outside of Chattanooga, TN. The park is built on a civil war battle field. The battle of Chickamauga in 1863, there was no real victor.

It's not a bad park, but we have our own pond on our lot. It has rained every day. The sun will be out, then moments later, it will be raining really hard.

We went downtown to Wanderlinger Brewery. The food and Beer was good. We both had the Ruben sandwich.

Ya Gotta love Nashville

We've moved to 2 Rivers Campground in Nashville. We have now stayed at all the parks here on Music Valley Drive at one time or another. So far, we like this one the best. We have a back in site. This motor home is so much easier to back in! I love that. The power hook up was a little scary, but it worked. It's an old park. They have live music down by the pool every night. That's kind of nice. The really expensive KOA right next door only has music on Saturdays and it's $300 more.

Looks bad but it works.

I couldn't get our satellite to work here as there are too many trees, but Starlink works. That's a good thing. Peggy used the magic eraser on her phone to remove the tree right in front of our view. You can hardly tell.

We took the downtown shuttle for $10 each to downtown. It was crazy down there. Tons of people for a Friday afternoon.

We met this bachelor party of crazy guys. They wouldn't stop buying us beers. We are way too old for that. But they were fun. I asked them how long they've had those cowboy hats and he looked at his watch and said 20 minutes.

The two craziest, doing shots and having fun.  It was only 3 o'clock in the afternoon!

Downtown there are a ton of ways to party. This one looks like way too much work for me.

On Saturday night we went to the Grand Ole Opry. We had great seats on the lower level. It's always fun to go to the Grand Ole Opry.

One of the best parts was the comedian, Gary Mule Deer, he was really funny. Look him up on YouTube, you will laugh your butt off.

On Sunday we went to a couple of local  breweries to test their beer and we found this smart Cannabis dispensary machine. We've never seen one before.
The weather has been great, it has cooled down a little; only in the high 80's. We had to drive thru some rain on the way here, so the motor home is a little dirty right now.  Back in Yuma we would get it washed and waxed for $100. Way more here.

On The Move

We've been on the move. We stopped in Vicksburg, MS at a not so nice park. The sites were nice and big but they haven't cut the grass for maybe a month. We won't go back to that park again. Vicksburg had a lot of civil war history. We went to the Lower Mississippi Museum. It had a lot of information on the Mississippi river and an Army Corp of Engineers river boat that we took a tour of.

It was huge. It worked on the river from 1962 to 1993.

The pilot house of the Mississippi IV.

The downtown in Vicksburg was pretty nice. They had a good brewery, The Key City Brewery. The beer was pretty good.

Now we've moved to Tom Sawyer RV park. It's one of our top 5 favorites. It's right on the Mississippi river. It has huge, pull thru sites and they've added more sites in the last 5 years. It's in West Memphis, Arkansas. The town is not very nice, but the park is great. Just across the river is Memphis, TN so there's a lot of things to do there. Last time we were here, we hooked up with Mike and Sandy. You can get to their Blog from ours. Here is the link http://mills-travels.blogspot.com/ We went to a Japanese restaurant with them last time, so we found it again, but since COVID, the place went bad. The food sucked. It's too bad. We will not be going back there. Oh, and the good Mexican restaurant that we went to, near the park, is now closed too.

We have THE best site in the park. We have a great view of all the barge traffic on the river.

The water looks a little low, but it's been going up every day.

This one was really close.

It's kind of fun just watching them go by, then look them up on the internet and read about them.

OK, food pictures! I had to put this one in. My whole slab. Memphis BBQ, in Horn Lake, MS. It's a little drive to get to but they have the best ribs that we've ever had! Three time world champion ribs! And man, they are good.

Peggy's half slab.

We always have to go down to Beale street to Silky O'Sullivan's to get the meat and cheese plate. Man, that's good too! We're here for another week so we have lots of time to hit more BBQ places. COVID killed one of our favorite stores downtown, Tater Red's. It was a really cool novelty store.

Beale Street has some of the best music places around.
