Better Days

The weather is getting better. It is going to get to 64 today, 72 tomorrow.

Last night I played Texas Hold'em. I got some good hands final but the last hand was the killer. I had ace, ten in my hand, the flop was queen. king and a jack. That gives me a ten to ace straight, a great hand. Then a guy at the table went all in and another player went all in. Oh I thought this is going to be a great WIN. I went all in. We all turn our cards over. The first guy had a king, seven. The other player had a ace, ten also. So I thought I will have to split the pot. Then the turn card was a queen. I am still in good shape. Then the river card was a KING. Oh no the gives the first guy a FULL HOUSE. Beating my STRAIGHT! It was still fun.

To day is going to be nice out, so it's time to make some Jerky on the BGE.

 

Cold

Yesterday it only got up to 44 and it was a light mist all day.

Today it should get to 58 and partly sunny. It is still better then THIS!

This picture was last winter at our house. I do not miss this weather at all. It was February 18th.

 



On My Own

I took Peggy to the airport this morning. She is off to Jacksonville FL to see her dad for a week. My main goal is to not kill the dog and not trash the RV.

The weather is still rainy and cold but this weekend it is going to change to 70 and warm. They say it is going to stay that way. We will see.

I made chicken pop pies for dinner. They turned out really good. I love that convection oven.

I played Texas Hold'em last night and got my butt kicked. I think I only won one hand and that was with a pair of sixes, that is really sad.

 



Nice Day

Monday was a nice sunny and warm.

Today rainy and cold.

We played shuffle board in the afternoon. I suck at it. My record is 0-4. Peggy is 2-2, one win was on me.
I grilled some dead chicken on the BGE. Today we are going to have chicken pop pies with the left overs.
We got bad news, Peggy's stepmother Pat passed away on Monday. Peggy will be traveling to Jacksonville FL. to be with her dad.

Football Sunday

We watched all the football games. Go Packers!

Today the weather is going to be good sunny and 68. I need to go to the store and get something to cook on the BGE for dinner. Shuffle board at 1 o'clock.

 



The Sun is Back

Yesterday we had to fill the Propane tanks, first time since we got here. Last time was in Michigan it cost $54.00 to fill two tanks. Here it cost $38.00 to fill two tanks. What is up with that?

We hung out here and watched the football games and cooked a meatloaf. So today is football and meatloaf sandwiches.

The weather is better today. The sun is out. It should get close to 60 today. That is still not close to the average of 70!

 

I am in the middle of changing all the light bulbs in the RV. The original ones have been blowing out. The new ones are LED and should last a lot longer. There are 24 LEDs in each bulb. They are easy to change.

You just pull the lens of and replace the bulb. There is 26 fixtures in the RV to change. That is a lot of bulbs to change.

Cold Cold Cold!

It's COLD! It was 35 this morning and raining hard.

 

We made our regular Friday night trip the American Legion for the fish fry. There was some bagpipers there this week. 

We are going to stay home and watch the football games and cook a meat loaf. The convection oven works great.

Cliff chilling out. He does not want to go outside in the rain.

Oh I am not asleep here.

Below Average

They tell me the average temperature is 70 here in the Rio Grande Valley. Then why did it only get to 40 yesterday? It is still cold today too.

So yesterday we had to play inside. After watching a movie we took our neighbors to Peckers to watch live music in the afternoon. The place was packed with "Winter Texans" that is what they call us. It was a good time. Then we had to get back for the Wood Shop cookout. A burger and two beers for $8. Then after the cookout it was Texas hold 'em time. I had fun but did not play well. I will get them next time.

I am trying not to put pictures of food on the blog but these are so good I can not help it.

 

 

 

 



Cooling Off

The weather is cooling off, down to 40 last night.

New camera test picture. What a lucky dog.

We tried to go to a bar someone told us about. They were going to have live music on Wednesday afternoon. We found it but it was not open. So we had to go to our old fall back bar D. D. Peckers.  

This afternoon there is live music at Peckers. But there is a hamburger cook out at the rec hall for the wood shop. You get a burger and 2 beers for $8.00. Not sure where we are going to go yet. Some many things to do!  



Vet trip

Another trip to the vet for Cliff for more test and drugs.

We had some time to wait for his test. So we made a trip to Bass Pro Shop to get me a new bathing suit. When we there we checked out the Fish Bowl & Grill in the store. It looked really cool a bar and bowling alleys in it.

 

Next time we go back we are going to have lunch there.

Today we are going to Horsemen's Saloon for live music and lunch. Pictures to post tomorrow. 

When we where in Mexico on Saturday we got some hot peanut, they are the best I have ever had. Need to get more next trip. 

Dan and I getting the BGE fired up.
