Another Good Day at the Beach

We went to South Padre Island Beach. It's a good time. You can drive on the beach, we drove down about a mile and a half and got a good parking spot. The weather was great in the low 80's and sunny. As you can see not a cloud in the sky.

Cliff loves to lay on the beach. High and dry.

We stopped at the fish market and got some fresh shrimp for dinner.

Here at the park they are going to build a new rec hall so they have taken the small dog park out for now and made it a lot smaller

We are not missing all the snow and cold from the great white north. The weather here is turning great after a cool January.

Good Time at the Beach

Yesterday Dan, Terry, Wayne, Debbie, Peggy and I went to Boca Chica Beach. We grilled hamburgers and hot dogs on the beach. The weather was great in the 80's and sunny.

We drove down the beach to the mouth of the Rio Grand River. It is so small you can walk across it.

This is the mouth of the Rio Grand River. You can see people on the other side fishing with nets.

We have so much fun at the beach we are going to go back today. Cliff wants to go play in the sand. On our way back I like to stop at the fish store and get some fresh shrimp for dinner when we get back to our rolling palace.





 

 

Bike is Fixed

I worked on the Big Dog, fixing the loose main drive nut.

 This is after I took the old nut off.

 New drive nut installed with locking screw in.

 All tore down. You have to remove the exhaust system, loosen the rear axle, and remove the clutch housing to get to the nut. 

Starting to put it all back together. I adjusted the clutch and rode around the park a little bit. Need to make a 25 mile test ride yet. It was a hard job. I miss Forest Cycle Works.

Good Movie

After reading that letter "Texas Goodbye" we had to go see American Sniper. It was a great movie. Make sure you thank anyone that has served in our armed forces.

Thank them for making it possible that we can live free.

Cool Day

Dan got his cement in yesterday. The next step is build the casita. Construction starts in two weeks after the cement is cured.

In the afternoon we went to Peckers for the live country music.

And got some of those loaded sidewinders and a beer or two.

Luky Day for Dan

Dan is getting his concrete today. His lot has been dug up for weeks.

The next thing they are going to build the casita. That will take two weeks before they even start on it. Thing do not happen fast down here.

This afternoon we are going to go to D. D. Peckers. They have live country music on Thursdays.

Dinner Dance

Last night was the USA dinner and dance. We had a great time.
It was a sell out about 225 people there. They had a one man band there, he was real good.

I had to drive around to find a 1 7/8" socket to fix the Big Dog it was hard to find one that big. The one I found has a 3/4" drive, so had to buy a 1/2" to 3/4" adaptor. But I have all the thing I need to fix the Big Dog. It will be back on the road soon.

 





Cold day

Sunday it was 78 and sunny, Monday it was 52 and cloudy. Big weather change.

We just went shopping and then watched a movie that I got from the Red Box. It was Fury, a WWII movie about a tank commander and his crew. It was a good movie.

My parts from Forest Cycle came. I need to go get a 1 7/8" socket and some red Loctite to change the nut on the main drive pulley.

Good Football

It was a great football game. We sat outside in our shorts a watched the whole game.

But today the weather changes it is cool and windy. A good day to stay inside. 



Fun at The Beach

We made the trip to South Padre Island again, this time we took Cliff with us. We drove down on the beach about a mile and a half. Set up our spot on the beach.

You can sit on the beach and watch guys surf fishing. I only saw one guy catch one. We parked on the Gulf side of the island. You have to be careful, there are things in the water that can bite you. 

 On the Bay side they had a kite flying show going on. All kinds of kites here are some good pictures.

Super Bowl Sunday! Looks like most people picked Seattle to win on the poll. Peggy and I think New England is going to win. I am cooking some Guadalajara  Beef for the game food.
