Meeting More Good Friends

We've moved a couple of times. I'm a little behind on the Blog. We're just having too much fun.
We moved from Sparks, NV to Susanville, Ca. We stayed there a week and that was too long. Not much in Susanville. Then we moved to Mountain Gate RV Park just north of Redding, CA.
Had a little construction on the way.
We had a nice big site in Susanville, but the park was a little old and needed some work to make it better.
We met some new friends in Susanville. Mike and Harriet, who were parked next us. But the real funny thing is that they are going to some of the same parks we're going to. We've caught up to them here in Mountain Gate RV Park. They're leaving on Sunday. We'll  hook up with these great people on Wednesday in Grants Pass, OR at Riverside RV Park.
Another funny thing, we met up with Angel and Teresa,  from Carefree Village Resort in Yuma. It's always fun when we run into friends on the road.
(Back in Sparks) We made some new friends there too. Fred and Adele. They're from Ironwood, Mi. Yoopers!
They're going to winter in Palms RV Resort in Yuma next year. So we'll see them there.
This is our site in Mountain Gate RV Park.
Our Bar and restaurant tour continues. We had lunch at Woody's Brewery in Redding. The beer and food were great.
I made one of the best Pizzas of all time!

Reno!

We moved to Sparks, NV. We're at Sparks Marina RV Park. It's a real nice park. We like it so much we've made reservations for next year for a month long stay. It was only a 37 mile drive from Desert Rose Park in Fernley.
The park is super clean. Sparks is a suburb of Reno. We like the area, as it's close to a big shopping mall and a lot of good restaurants,
We got the Big Green Egg out.
Cooked a killer Pizza with dough we got from Trader Joe's.
Whipped up a small batch of Jerky. We met a Yooper, Fred, from Ironwood, MI. He gave me some Lake Superior Salmon that he had, to smoke up on the BGE. It turned out really good.
This sticker is on his wife's car.
Lois, Peg and I went on a road trip to Virginia City. It's a cool, old mining town full of bars and shops. Lots of old historic buildings.
This still working courthouse was built in 1876.
It had a jail inside on the first floor.
The jail was used from 1876 to 1986. It didn't look like a nice place to be in.
Above the door is one of the few statues of lady justice that does not  have a blindfold on.
This is the 100 mile view from "The Bucket of Blood Saloon".
Some of the old buildings on "C" Street.
Lois and I in The Ponderosa Saloon. This bar has a gold mine tour right inside the bar. We didn't take the tour this time.
This morning we went to breakfast at BJ's BBQ. This was the best breakfast place we've ever been to! Peggy got a Bacon Bloody Mary. We're going to have to go back for dinner before we leave town.
