Check Off Another Park

We used Peggy's senior pass (a.k.a. Geezer Pass) to go to Petrified Forest National Park. The park is beautiful. The park also has the Painted Desert in it. We followed the 28 mile park road from the south to the north on an amazing journey.

Another interesting thing here in the park are the Petroglyphs left by Prehistoric people. They also had some Solar Calendars that marked the summer and winter solstice.
These Petroglyphs are on Newspaper Rock.

Oh and don't forget the Petrified Wood. It is all over the place. It is illegal to take any of it. When you come in the park the ranger gives you a "Rat Out Form". Just in case you see someone taking any Petrified Wood out of the park.
We did not have to use it.
Route 66 cut thru the park back in the 1926. This marker and an old car is the only thing left of the road here in the park.
Cliff got to go with us and he loved peeing on petrified wood ( just kidding that probably would be illegal).
So we got to check off another national park.
