Big Geyser

We went to Soda Springs ID to see the Soda Springs Geyser. This is a man made geyser. Back in 1937 they where trying to drill and hit a hot spring but instead they hit a gas chamber with 72 degree water, for two weeks it flowed and flooded the town until they capped it. Now there is a valve on it timed to shot off on the hour for about ten minutes.
It shoots about 100 feet in the air. It has a really pretty mineral deposit around it. It is a beautiful orange color.
As the water runs off it's looks really cool in the sun.
The only bad thing about it is when you park your truck too close to it, it sprays mineral water all over it and makes a mess. That was a bad ideal.
We have a family of groundhogs in the park. We have seen six at one time.
The park is starting to fill up for the weekend.
We had dinner at the Blue Moon. Peggy had the special BBQ ribs, I had the bacon burger. It was all good.

Live Happy and Always Go Big.
